Stevenson School Ball Field & Entry
This project provided improvements to Stevenson Middle School baseball field and main entry form Prospect Street. Existing problems posed safety and liability concerns for the school. For the existing entryway, the "entry only", no "drop-off" area, and one-way pattern created congestion and conflict between vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The existing ball field backstop and first base line fencing were inadequate for stopping the foul balls which ended up bouncing onto Prospect Street and in the neighboring residences.
School improvements included additional parking stalls, ADA compliant accessible routes to the school and to the new ball field, entryway improvements, new drop-off area, turn-around area, and revised Prospect Street entry to allow for entry and exit. Ball field Improvements included higher fence line along the first base line, suspended net over home plate, new dugouts and infield improvements.
