Temporary Facilities Department of Education
This project included engineering services required for the design of site construction to accommodate portable trailers at various school locations statewide (Mililani Ike Elementary, Cambell High School, Moanalua High School, DeSilva Elementary, Kamehameha II Elementary, Waipahu Elementary, Maui High School, Ewa Elementary, and Waimea Elementary School)
Design included walkways, grading, drainage and utility connections to water, sewer for elementary schools where the trailer was equipped with a hand sink, confirm adequacy of fire protection for each new trailer with the city fire Marshall.
The project spanned over three islands on one set of plans. All construction had to be during school hours and the challenge was to incorporate individual school design elements to make it useful to everyone.
